the book was written by emily bronte. she was born on july 30th 1818, in yorkshire. emily was the fifth children of the bronte family. she grew up with her family in the village of haworth,yorkshire,in northern england where her father was a churchman. their mother died in 1821, and they were educated at home. with her two sisters, they read widely and created imaginary worlds about which they wrote stories and poems.
emily began to write novels in 1884 and "wuthering heights" is the only novel by her. after the book was first published in 1847, at first people couldn't understand the book except a few readers. emily died a year later in 1848, but she never knew how she was accepted as a respectable writer after the public's opinions exactly changed.
